The Punk Rock Flea Market returns to the Underground Events Center on Saturday June 23, 2012!
Despite what the poseurs would have you believe, this is Seattles ONLY Punk Rock Flea Market! Now in our 6th glorious year! The PRFM is a full on flea market with everything from music and clothing, to furniture, computers, stereo equipment, handmade apparel, shoes, vegan treats, adult stuff, info from nonprofit groups, books, art, bikes, skateboards and whatever else we can fit into the space. Our Punk Rock name refers as much to the DIY spirit of the event as it does to any particular music or lifestyle.
Theres a lot of new people on this list, so please read carefully: Everyone is welcome at the PRFM, it's an all ages event, and it costs $US40 per space to sell your stuff. We dont play favorites and we have no jury: the spaces are sold on a STRICT first-come first-served basis. The Underground Event Center in Belltown is a mean and dirty little place, and we cram 80 vendors into the venue and the parking lot next door for the Summertime show. If you send in your cash and your form, youve got a space to sell your goods. If you dont, then youre out of luck. The spaces WILL sell out.
Other details you may want to know: Summer time means the sun comes up nice and early, so we open the market at 10:00 am and keep it open until 8:00 pm. We will have bands later in the day (not sure who they are YET) and our resident badass DJ, DJ Port-a-Party, will be on hand with his hand selected playlist. Vendors are very welcome to stay for the entire event, but it isn't required. The alcohol and soft drinks flow freely all day.
As always, the space we are using has been generously loaned to us for the day by our benevolent angels at the Low Income Housing Institute, aka. LIHI. LIHI is a non-profit organization that builds homes for homeless and low-income people all around the Puget Sound. Your table fees and entry donations go toward paying taxes, insurance and advertising costs for this event. Once those expenses are covered, all additional proceeds go to LIHI. And heres some good news for those of you who like this kind of thing: WE NOW HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. If you have never sold at the market before, ask me to send you paypal details and a vendor form.
Please read this again: the spaces are sold on a strict first-come first-served basis, so if you know you want to be there, SEND YOUR MONEY. Fast!
