Herts Extended Schools - Stop Press!
Extended Schools has been fully established for more than two years in Watford and Three Rivers.
Great changes have taken place Extended Schools have been working to provide wrap around childcare for working parents; holiday activities; a varied menu of out of school hours or extra-curricular activities; parenting support, including parenting courses and family learning; community access to schools and helping to implement the CAF (Common Assessment Framework) procedures to help children and families who need additional support from other agencies.
Schools are not asked to work alone to provide these services. They work together in clusters - we have five clusters covering the whole of Watford and Three Rivers and families are signposted to where they can find the service they need. Each cluster has an Extended Schools Coordinator who will be happy to speak with you and give you more information:
Jan Baker, coordinator for The Adrian Consortium, covering Abbots Langley and parts of Garston, is based at St Michaels Catholic High School and can be contacted on 01923 673760
Helen Taunt is coordinator for The Riversmeet Consortium, covering Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Croxley Green and Maple Cross. Based at Rickmansworth School she can be contacted on 07972 294072.
Lisa Cook is the coordinator for the South Oxhey and Carpenders Park Consortium of Extended Schools, which extends to Moor Park and Eastbury Farm. Lisa is based at Oxhey Wood School and can be contacted on 07870 756381.
Maureen Miller is the coordinator for the Schools Plus Consortium of Extended Schools. Her consortium includes schools in West Watford, Nascot Wood, Cassiobury as well as Central Watford. She is based at Westfield School and may be contacted on 07922 222712.
The North Watford Extended Schools Consortium is in the process of appointing a coordinator, but for more information please contact Francis Combe School on 01923 672964
Parent and Family support workers are now in post (or are soon to be recruited) to work with families who need help with finding the service they need and ensure that appropriate parenting courses are available across the districts.

| Local Partnership Arrangements in Hertfordshire
All schools are working together to develop local partnership arrangements. The purpose of these partnerships is to ensure a mechanism exists to promote a local network of universal/preventative services and support the devolution of resources to schools. The proposal covers arrangements for the next 2 years by which time it is hoped that partnerships will have developed into self sustainable models. For more information visit: |
